As I see others have done, I have put up a tribute on my YouTube page.
http://www.youtube.com/user/WilliamLion77

It's just me sharing some thoughts and memories and showing my collection - which includes some old newsletters along with CDs and records.  Over this about three and a half minutes in is an audio piece I put together in college that combined an original story with one of Larry's songs.  I always meant to send him a copy, but I never did.

He is missed.  Let the tape keep rolling!

William

Our Larry Norman memories sound almost identical. I'm 33, went to a public school, and a friend introduced me to Larry's music too. Like you I also collect his stuff, attended a couple of his concerts and got my picture taken with him. You don't happen to have an extra copy of the "Blue Book" or an autograph that you're willing to part with do you? I sold both on eBay a couple of years ago when I needed money and i've regretted it ever since.

I might put your youtube video onto my myspace page that i've basically turned into a Larry Norman tribute for the time being. Check it out: www.myspace.com/crashgod

Just curious, what state do you live in and which concerts did you attend?

I live in Ontario, Canada.  I saw him a couple times in Toronto and Oshawa (around Toronto) (actually when I saw him in Toronto he did sing "Up In Canada" and "peacepollutionrevolution", but he changed the line "I would have hitchhiked to Toronto" to something else - I think he didn't want everybody screaming.)
I do have a autographed tape of "In Another Land" I could part with and I also have an extra Blue Book, but the Phydeaux coupon is cut out.  Email me at williamlion@rocketmail.com if you're interested.

A few other things I wanted to add, but couldn't fit in the ten minute YouTube limit.

We were really blessed to have Larry as long as we did.  It was 93-94 when he came out with "Omega Europa" his farewell concert album.  I lost my own brother to cancer in 2000 and we played Larry's "Goodbye Farewell" at the funeral over a photo power point.  (My brother was only 24).

Solid Rock has a Mark Heard CD on it's collectors section in the online store.  Mark Heard is one of my favourite artists (a bunch of his later stuff is at Pastemusic.com - but they're getting out of selling CD's to focus on their magazine)  If you like Larry stuff, you will be amazed by the depth of Mark's songwriting.  Mark died in the early 90's when he was only forty.

My Sister just watched my video and said that it looked like I'm a guy who still lives in my parents' basement.  Ha, ha.  Those who know me know this isn't the case.  I wanted to add more in the video but had to cut it for time.  I am married and just a few weeks before Larry passed we welcomed our fifth child into the world on February 2.  (I have a video concerning that on my youtube page as well.)  So it was a very bitter-sweet time when I made my tribute - between the birth of my daughter Rebekah and my own birthday.  So to clarify, I do not live in my parents' basement.

I just watched the videos on the media page of the new site.  Very moving.  It was fun to see pictures of Larry with short hair - so young and with that look in his eye of "I can do anything" and he did do so much.  The concert footage was great too, although it was sad to see how his health deteriorated over time.  The one thing that those videos show that you can't get from a record or CD was his professionalism.  The practiced way he would set his mouth to get the proper enunciation when he sang.  Seeing it made it really hit home that he's left us.  There's a big void now.
