I first heard Larry in 1976 or so, when I was in high school.  It was my first exposure to real Christian rock, and as anyone who actually did something right, he was persecuted by both the "church" and the world.  I last saw Larry a few years ago, 2001 or so, when he played the main stage at the Cornerstone Festival in Bushnell, Illinois.  I was so happy to see my musical idol and hero.  I also saw his good friend Randy Stonehill there once, too.  Larry wasn't afraid to speak his mind, even then.  He spoke out against some of the excesses of modern youth and their worldliness, including tatooing and body piercing.  HE was a bold man.  I'll look for you in Heaven, Larry!

that surprises me to hear that he would do that.  i know that larry didn't have tattoos or piercings, but he seemed very accepting of all people. also, people persecuted him in a similar way back in the 70's for having long hair and wearing jeans.
