My Thoughts and Prayers For The Norman Family

Please know that the whole Norman family is in my thoughts and prayers at this time. Death is never easy for those of us still on earth, but it is wonderful for people like Larry who get to step into eternity.

Larry's Phydeaux-Gram Newsletters and music helped me as a young Christian to feel comfortable and secure in my walk with Jesus. His words were soothing to help me understand that I need to listen to God's Voice and to not pay attention to the "Pharisees" who were trying to steer me in their direction.

It was "In Another Land" that introduced me to Larry Norman. However, it was "Something New Under The Son" that touched my heart and helped me relax and enjoy my journey with Jesus. That album taught me that all of my striving to "perform" for Jesus was not necessary. Instead, I became secure in Christ by understanding that He is the One that is in control and His ways are always wise and true. Instead of putting my faith and trust in man, I learned to listen to the Lord and put my faith in Him.

Ever since then, I have found the freedom in Christ that Paul writes about in Galatians 5:1, "It was for freedom that Christ Jesus died."

I met Marge Norman in her home at 1482 DeTracey Street in San Jose. My friends and I came for a visit one night and got to talk with her husband Joe. Thank you for letting us into your home.

Mary and I hosted Larry in concert in Harpenden, England in 2001. We enjoyed getting together with him, Michael, Kristy and Nancy for a wonderful evening. I will never forget hugging Larry and the two of us praying together. It was sweet and beautiful.

Thank you for sharing Larry with us. I wish I could be at the memorial service, but I will be with you by His Spirit. God bless you and continue to stay in touch, all of you.
