I met Larry in England in the early seventies. Larry had just played to a "sold out" crowd at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Our local Christian bookstore - in Folkestone, Kent - booked the town hall for a concert and Larry showed up ready to rock. Problem was,the bookstore didn't know how to promote and only a handful of people showed up.
I think there were 12 of us there that evening. However, rather than being bummed, Lary Norman invited us all on stage. "Grab a folding chair and come on up," he said.
The next 90 minutes were a rare treat. Larry told stories, laughed, and played simple accoustic sets on his guitar and the piano.
I was probably 16 or 17 years old, but I've never forgoten the sweet sweet spirit of Christ that Larry represented.
Today I'm 51 years old and I play accoustic guitar in the Praise Band at my Presbyterian church. Chances are I'll play "I wish we'd all been ready" during the prelude. It's obvious that, thirty-some years after our brief meeting, Larry was still ready.
    Blessings, peace, and God-speed.
