Dear family and close friends of Larry.

I wish you all God's strength and comfort in this loss!

Larry's music has been very important to me and my family, our kids growing up with the Flevo Festival in Holland, where we saw him perform several times and met him in the backstage restaurant.
Only recently, everyone being home again one weekend, we sang ans played some of his songs and again, it was great fun and beautiful at the same time.

Larry, thank you for the songs you left us, the words you spoke, the love of Christ you shared on the many occasions I was at your concerts. They meant very much to me and the live recording of your cried out "Messiah took this world by force", still gives me shivers down my spine.
I'll be playing your music till we meet again!

Rienk from Holland.

To the dear family of Larry...  How very shocked but not surprised was I at work today when a fellow worker told me Larry passed on to Glory.  Yesterday I recieved an email re: Larry, but had no time to open it - in the back of my mind I wondered...  And so now it is here.  And I am soo feeling for you.  What a loss.  Know that I will be thinking and praying deeply.  Oh!  But what a blessing he was to me!  I saw him at several small venues and spoke with him at 2 of them.  I shall never forget him and his music.  He was and is still a person who makes me feel there is hope even for those of us who struggle to stay near the Lord.  How happy indeed thru tears I am for him truly!  I cannot imagine the huge smile he will have on his face when he meets Jesus!!!  Wow!  And Larry, God bless you richly up there my friend!!!  I have a sayin lately, 'Go to heaven shouting!'  Certainly you have!  And family... tho' you may not feel it at this time cause of all the pain... may God wrap his loving arms around you and just hold you close.  Love in Christ... LizK.

God be with you at this time of loss. In 1979 I had my first opportunity to see Larry in concert. It was a snowy night in Lynchburg, Va. and the crowd was small. There was nothing that would've kept me away that night. I was a student at Liberty and we weren't permitted to listen to that "type of music" but while working at a Christian bookstore I became aware of Larry and I loved him! Over the years I saw him in Texas, Colorado and Oregon. I got to take some of my children to the concert in Oregon and my one dauther is Michael's age. He was with Larry that night, probably around 10 years old! I can only image that there's some great gigs happening now with Mark Heard, Keith Green and Larry! Can't wait to see him again "live" on the other side. God bless you and keep you!

I saw Larry Norman perform in Glasgow a long time ago and he was characteristically outstanding. I had loved his music before I saw him live and I've loved it since. He just speaks right to my heart through his songs and takes me to the feet of the Saviour. What a loss he is to this world. God bless you.

What can one say that hasn't been said.  I never knew anyone who heard Larry's music, be them Christian or not, who wasn't moved by what they heard.  His honesty was always refreshing in what lots of times seemed to be a milk toast environment.  I heard him twice.  In '87 at the Christian Music Conference in Colorado he brought down the house.  I can't pretend to know what the family feels like with his passing I only know that it's affected me for 3 days now.  I know he's in heaven but I'm selfish enough to wish he could have been here longer.  I always believed he was one of the few people who really kept a child's heart when it came to Christ.  Maybe that's why his heart grew weak, because he seemed to have no walls around it to protect it.  Family, I don't know you, but I love you and my thoughts are with you every minute.  Wish I could be in Salem on Saturday, I'll always regret not being able to be there.

Dear friends,
We certainly send our sympathy and rejoice for the life of Larry Norman.  Our young lives were touched and challenged by his ministry.  His music resonated in our souls and was intertwined in and through landmark moments in our lives.  Our friend was a great fan of Larry's and when we were married in 1980, we asked our friend to play "I am a Servant" at our wedding.  Our friend was the first one we called to share about Larry's passing.  At a Larry Norman Concert in Athens, OH Larry introduced us to an artist by the name of Tom Howard.  One of Tom's songs, "All Through the Day" was the lullaby I sang to my children every night of their childhood.  If it weren't for Larry, that lullaby would not have been a part of my children's lives.

Larry has left "Footprints in the Sand" as he was "Only Visiting This Planet" while standing "Upon This Rock" in "A Moment in Time".  He has completed his earthly "Labor of Love" and he is now "Something New Under the Son" on this "Quiet Night" he is "Home at Last".

May God continue to use Larry Norman to reach, teach and challenge those of us who remain as we look forward to meeting in the here after.  May God's loving arms embrace you with His comfort and sustain you by His grace.  God's love is present in the caring prayers of others.  Please know that we share in your grief and also rejoice in the memories and knowing where Larry is spending eternity.

With sincere sympathy and rejoicing,
Steve & Marti Briggs

The first thing I think of at this time is the Scripture that states, "Well done they good and faithful servant."  I can hardly imagine the rejoicing in heaven of saint Larry going home and my spirit within leaps at the thought of it.  But, dearest family of this wonderful man of God, I also know the heartache of a loved one passing on and my heart does feel with you and for you.  Please know that many upon many of prayers are going out in your behalf at this time.  How wonderful to know that the music will go on and continue to touch many upon many in this world, seeing that "They will all have the choice to be ready."  Thanks for allowing us to be a part of the Blessing.  With much love and emotion; Pastor L. Vasha Piermont

I am sitting here with tears running down my face as I write this. Someone who battled ,right form the start, against status quo Christianity, complacency, and injustices of all kinds has now gone on to meet His Jesus face to face. The original Jesus Freak. Wow! What a legacy he leaves behind. I have listened to and sung most of his songs, and occassionally got some of the same resistance for doing so.I lost my Dad a little over a year ago, and I want the family to know that I understand your pain, and that I will, honestly, pray for your comfort at this time. Thank you for what his life meant, and know that it not only has not ended with his passing fromdeath unto life, but that his life and songs will always be here to inspire others to make the same bold stand!

May God bring Larry's family peace in the midst of the storm.  Larry's song, "I Wish We'd All Been Ready" literally changed my life.  He set the standard for writing songs that touches the heart and changes lives to a wide audience.  I believe that Larry was "ready" and is now singing his songs to the Lord face to face.

Dear family/friends/fans of Larry Norman,

I wish you all comfort for this hard time!

Larry Norman has always been a great example for me. I grew up with his music as my father Rienk stated here. Singing and dancing together. His songs have helped me understand God above all churchwalls. We've played Why Should The Devil Have All The Good Music at my wedding in July '06 and all our guests danced and sung! It was a wonderful moment!

It is good to know for sure that Larry is in this other Land and will be singing again with a choir of angels! I hope to hear his songs again there...

I wish you all the best, I hope the service saturday will be a strong message of Christ's love for us.

With love,

Geesje - Holland

A very special man has gone to meet his maker!

A friend introduced me to Larry's music back in '84 - before I had not known that there was such a thing like "Christian Rock Music". Larry's songs have been an important influence in my life and are connected with many special memories. I will never forget the magic evening on a Swiss farm about 15 years ago, when he gave a concert for a small crowd and I got to meet him in person.

He will be missed, but his music will live on!!

It's very sad, but I'm very glad that Larry's now with his Lord and Saviour. What a great influence he was. After far too many years, I recently got my old Larry Norman albums out and started playing them again. I had just started to get my young adult kids & their friends to listen to Larry's music. I regret that I wasn't aware that he was dying. You can be blessed to know that Larry was someone who truly made a difference. His music will definately live on. It's a blessing to know also that he was such an influence on Paul Coleman and I'm sure many other great Christian artists. We feel your sorrow and can only imagine the pain of how much you are missing him. We can all look forward to that day when we can sing with him in Paradise, where there is no pain!

I have loved Larry Norman's music and ministry since I was first introduced to his music at age 17, up at Kamp Kuriou near Parrysound, Ontario. As a developing Christian and musician, I tried to play and perform many of his songs and saw Larry as an amazing Christian role model.

I had the opportunity to open a concert for Larry Norman about 17 years ago and it was one of the highlights of my life. When I met him I was amazed how real he was as a person and how he so simply just pointed people to Christ, not himself. I remember hearing about how, after the concert, he went off by himself to some local coffee shops sharing Christ one-on-one with people. Lary was quite , and still is, an inspiration and example for us all.

I heard yesterday from a good friend that Larry had died. I suppose, on some level, saw it coming. He had many medical issues over the years, but remained steadfast in his goal to unwaiveringly share Christ to those in need. As I was listening to some of Larry's music with my wife and 3 children, and watching some youtube videos of him performing his songs, I tried to explain that Larry Norman was a man who was not caught up with the music business, but rather one who felt helping people and sharing Christ was most important. I described to my family that Larry was a very down-to-earth man. In response to this, my 7yr. old son Jordan remarked quite innocently "...but he's not very down to earth anymore!"

We all laughed hysterically at Jordan's statement, but it seemed fitting. I am sure that Larry Norman is happier now in heaven after his very long journey on earth! He can now rest with his Father for his earthly walk has come to an end.

Chris Ellison
