- Strange topic name but it mustn't be forgotten.

I thank you Larry for all you have meant to me.. I expressed it in an awkward way of course.. following you in a record shop, begging for an autograph as a twelve year old kid. Walking up to you after a concert when you were already not well and flat out embracing you and saying "I love you!", as a 16 year old. You had no idea where I was coming from. It must have been very annoying ;)

All of this after your music sustained me and my spiritual life for years, and I listened ONLY to tapes and CDs of you, for years, during my adolescense.

Then I was listening (nearly a year ago) to a very embarrassing interview with you at one of your last concerts in Germany, awkward only because of the clumsy German interviewer.

We drove all the way there for a day because we knew there wouldn't be many more opportunities to hear you.

- I should stop. These are only the last thoughts; over the years I have countless and countless precious memories of you.

I was really, really happy to have seen you at one of your very last concerts though, at the festival in Germany.
Still a fighter, and you inspired me.

A very happy memory is when you said you had such good memories of Holland, because when you were sick, instead of 1 or 2 postcards, you got a full box of letters and postcards from here.
That's when you did an exclusive 4-gig tour just to Holland, by way of saying thank you.
I was happy and proud to hear that.
I'm sure many of them were from my village, because Holland is a big fanbase, but the tiny village of Urk within Holland is a *very* big fanbase.
Whenever there was a concert, lots of us would organise cars together and go!; whenever you were sick, lots of us would send you mail, because we cared about you.

I've prayed and sung your songs so many times.

Hope to speak face to face with you some day.
