I first heard of Larry in '70 when I was fifteen.   A friend said " Look! This christian guy plays rock and he has long hair!   Sorry to say I wasn't impressed with the message until '77 when I came back to Jesus.   The message popped!   It made sense!   It gave me direction and hope.   Someone out there understood my struggle and delimma.   My kids, who are now 22-27 yrs. old cut their teeth on Norman tunes and are also saddened by Larry's death.   We had tickets to his last planned (then canceled) concert in Portland.   So close!
   I saw Larry in '78 at the Paramount in Portland.   I laughed until my sides hurt.   What a poignant comic.   I was the friend he never knew.
