His life and music said it all
(Preview)
I was fortunate to see Larry perform in Peoria just a few years ago with Phil Keaggy at Grace Presbyterian Church. I knew I was in the presence of a legend in Christian music. He did indeed tread new paths at a time when we needed them. His music was great. Im a musician myself and can appreciate music well d...

Death of a Hero: Larry Norman Meets the Lord in Person
(Preview)
I do not know how to process this. A hero in my life has died. Others have gone along the way, like Evel Knievel, Walter Payton, but so far, none have impacted me as much as this one man. I awoke this morning to read a post response that Larry is now with God. I am sad he has left this planet, but, after all, he wa...

Larry Norman played such a hugh part of my early spiritual life! Today, at age 45, he still does. Even my teenage daughter sung he his famous "Christmas" song in church.

Saw him once LIVE

My husband & I saw Larry once LIVE at a church in Toronto. Just him & his guitar. It was sweet. I bought a T-shirt with a Larry drawing on the front-still have it 13 years later. Heaven now gets to hear him sing.

Mission Accomplished
(Preview)
Last October my husband and I had a five hour dinner and fellowship with brother Larry. He said all he wanted was to be a witness. Mission accomplished, brother Larry! Here was a man who lived his life a witness to the love of God for all mankind, without pretense, with a childlike sincerity, but with his...

You taught me how to die
(Preview)
Dear family, I enjoyed Larry's music immensely and he was always my favorite Christian musician. I learned to play and sing most of his songs. But after reading Charles' letter on larry's last days, the best thing Larry taught me was how to die. God Bless you all and you are in my prayers.

It's certainly hard to say goodbye to friends. Time just simply passes too quickly (from our earthly perspective)--and we only pass this way once. Larry left an indelible mark on many lives--I can still see him as he was when we once met outside Capital Records many suns ago. Thanks, Lord, for the time...

Thanks for the memories in England

I met Larry in England in the early seventies. Larry had just played to a "sold out" crowd at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Our local Christian bookstore - in Folkestone, Kent - booked the town hall for a concert and Larry showed up ready to rock. Problem was,the bookstore didn't know how t...

Larry and his music
(Preview)
To the family of Larry my deepest sympathies. I hope it is comforting to know the impact he made during his life. As a new believer Larry was the first Christian music artist I had ever heard. Music was a huge part of my life and the day I heard Larry music took on a new meaning, direction and purpose. From th...

The passing of a true pioneer

I followed Larry's song-writing and recording output for many years - from the time I was a teenager, in fact. I now lead a Christian mission across Europe which is, among other things, heavily involved with media. Years ago, when I was leading Youth Alive Australia in my homeland, I had breakfast wit...

A Man of God, a prophet

It is with sorrow for the loss of a legend both in my life and the Church losing Larry, a bold prophet, who purposed in his music the breaking thru of RELIGION and introduced God Inspired Music, allowing a Man of God to Sing The Truth, allowing us as listeners to become free of the bondage of being a P...

He made being a Christian an act of rebellion for me..YAY!
(Preview)
As a teenager when I was trying to break away from my parents I went to several Larry concerts. WoW! New life for me! I could rebel against my parents (& the stogginess of the church) without rebelling against God. (Actually my parents secretly liked Larry too but they weren't letting me know that...

Rest in peace, Larry Norman
(Preview)
Hearing of Larry's passing was a shock. I have been a fan for a long time; especially of the way Larry broke through barriers, clearing the path for many artists to follow. We spoke in the early and late 90's and it always struck me how much he had had to deal with in his life. Going against the odds, against...
