Dear unknown friends,
Friends and family memebers of Larry Norman.
I was probably 19 y.o. when I first heard about Larry  Norman.
At that time, I lived in London and was a member of the "Good News" band (Salvation Army music group), and so, we played in some programs in which Larry was most probably the very main star... after Cliff Richard, of course !

Sorry: the main star was meant to be Jesus...

I remember two: a tv show in the St-Paul's Cathedral crypt and the "National Festival of Light", in London too.
Recently, I discovered that I could find many videos of Larry Norman on YouTube and I sent many links to some friends and family members.
This morning, I searched for "Larry Norman" and found the page saying he just passed away !
I am shocked !
Just no other words than:

"Goodbye Larry!"

Like you, I also learned of Larry when I was a teen.  I was 15, and a Christian for  only a couple of months.  His latest album, at that time, was "In Another Land." so I'm probably dating myself.  Regardless, I've been influenced by Larry's music all these years. I'm a better preacher than I am a musician, and his metaphors and lyrics have given me much inspiration in communicating the great ideas of the Bible.  He has been so prolific and gifted.  He cared about his fans.  His passing really does feel like losing a long time friend.

The reporting of his death has been surprisingly sparse; I can't help but notice that the secular media is giving this more coverage than the religious media.  Were it not for the world wide web, the news would have hardly seen the light of day.  I'm trying very hard not to be irate about this, but I would not be surprised if I were to learn that there are countless Larry Norman supporters out there who still haven't learned his visit to this planet has ended.

These days, my two daughters (who are good musicians) enjoy his music.  Today in church, in Larry's memory, one of them sang "I hope I'll see you in Heaven".  Which of course we will.
