Larry Norman Message Board

Thanks to all the thousands of visitors we've had in the past 30 days.
The response has been overwhelming, and has meant a lot to
Larry's family and friends around the world.

Again, thanks for all the support and great memories...

The 1st time I heard a Larry Norman song was a wedding.  I didn't even know it was his song until years later, but I always hummed that tune.
I play a little and I like to mention in concert that I have had 3 great influences in my life: my own father, Billy Graham, and (of course) Larry Norman.  He was a pioneer.  He paved a trail for Christian music...there was no leader to follow; there was no website; there was no CCM Magazine.  The Christians (bookstores) wouldn't support him because the music was Rock-N-Roll; the "secular" bookstores would carry his albums because it was too...well "Jesus-y."  And yet the band played on.
I am glad Larry Norman pursued Jesus and played music ... even if it seemed like the Lord was the only one listening.  He helped other musicians, like Randy Stonehill, Cliff Richard, Sheila Walsh, etc...... and he inspired today's musicians who heard him many years later.   His music and pioneer spirit even inspires "unknown" musicians who play "UFO" and "Outlaw" and other songs to youth groups all around the world....or even just to play them in our own living room.
The world seems a little less musical without Larry in it already.  But I know he would not want us to be sad.  He is Home .  We all knew he was "only visiting this planet" and we should be glad to have known him for this long.

Thank you Larry.  This world is not my home.
