Larry, if I could have visited you whilst you were still on this planet, I would have had lots to share with you. You were always foremost in my heart when it came to musicians/artists -secular or Christian. My first encounter was with you showing up by surprise at Jesus '73 in Mercer PA. My friend and fellow fan, and I, went down to catch Andrae Crouch and others, and when you arrived by surprise it was the icing on the cake1 Andrae, graciously called you to perform "I've Got Confidence" with him, then gave up the remainder of his time to give you time. You were forthright, honest, and gracious in dispelling the rumours circulating about you (later addressed in "Shot Down"). We snuck into the artist compound and found you playing frisbee with two little kids, and you chatted with us at quite some length while you played with them. I will always remember your gentleness and humility. We saw you at several appearances here in the Toronto area, and then again at Jesus '83 (again in PA).My favourites are your trilogy, and always considered the masterful lyrics/rhythm combo of "Nightmare" from "So Long Ago The Garden" to be on par with anything Bob Dylan could write - and eerily prophetic too. Like you, I also think Bob's masterpiece, "Slow Train Coming" will not be surpassed either. To Charles, and Michael, & family, I extend both my sympathies, condolences; & my celebration of a life well lived and his subsequent promotion to the presence of the Lord Jesus.
