I met Larry Norman, briefly, when I ran spotlight for him when he played a small auditorium at my college, Southeastern Oklahoma State University, in the early 80's. Just him and his guitar and his heart.

Tonight I heard of his passing, and it leaves me saddened. Yes, it is selfish, because I know that, for him, all is well. It is those of us left behind that must learn to deal with the loss.

I can still remember sharing his songs with my best friend and then his very shocked parents. Seriously, with lyrics like 'gonorrhea on Valentine's Day' how could we not shock them and share a chuckle, as the rest of the message made it through.

Larry, I will miss you. Thank you for everything you were, everything you gave, and everything you made, for all of us....
