I am a servant, I am listening for my name. I sit here waiting. I've been looking at the game. That I've been playing. I've been staying much the same. When you are lonely, you're the only one to blame.

I AM A SERVANT is my favorite Larry Norman song. I like all of his songs. This one is my favorite because it not only tells the story of Larry's life but also openned the door for me to have a "servant's" heart.

I was fortunate to be able to see Larry in concert several times in my life. I remember his long, blonde hair against the black leather jacket. I always remember Larry telling us that he was not the one to look at  and praise, but it was Jesus we were to always look to.

The last time I saw Larry was when I eight months pregnant with my son, who is now eighteen. I went with a close friend to see him in concert at a little church in Euless, TX. After a night of music, we were able to talk with him a while after the concert. My favorite part of that night was when we all went to eat with Larry afterwards. We put several tables together so we hear has Larry shared with us. What an incredible time of fellowship! I look forward to fellowshipping with Larry in the presence of our Lord.

Thank you, Larry. Truly, "I am a servant" is a true reflection of not only your heart but also the heart each of us should have as we "only visit this planet."
