Thanks to all the thousands of visitors we've had in the past 30 days. The response has been overwhelming, and has meant a lot to Larry's family and friends around the world.
Again, thanks for all the support and great memories...
Larry was scheduled to perform in Big Rapids, MI early summer of '80. Arrangements had been made for his stay, but we received a call the day before saying he was on his way. Due to a major activity at the university in Big Rapids there were no available rooms. My husband called me on his way to the airport to say Larry would be staying with us. We later found out that this was never done by anyone at Street Level. As Larry was getting ready to head to the concert he needed his shirt ironed so I got out the ironing board. He told me that he didn't iron, could I please iron his shirt so I did. As I was ironing, he went in to the kitchen and started doing the dishes. I asked him please not to, but he insisted. I have always remembered him from then on as such a humble servant.
