As a child growing up in the early '70s, I remember singing "I Wish We'd All Been Ready" at church not having a clue who had written it.  It wasn't until the early '80s when I met my husband that I found out it was Larry Norman.  I still hadn't heard his name until this time.  My husband, Tim, had been listening to Larry since the early '70s when his brother brought Larry's album "Upon This Rock" home.  I cannot begin to tell you the impact that Larry and his music has had upon Tim's life.  He is one of 8 children born to parents who used to be Amish.  Needless to say, Larry's music was exciting, but also ministered to his spirit.  To make a long story short, not only did I love Larry's ministry and music, but our four children have been impacted by it as well.  Our family had the opportunity to meet Larry on a couple of occasions one of which was at the Alive Festival in Ohio when he had his son, Michael with him.  Larry truly displayed genuine love and compassion for people.  What an inspiration...seeing Jesus shine through Larry.

Our family was saddened to hear of Larry's passing.  But beyond that, we rejoice knowing that he is free from the physical hinderances he has experienced.

Our deepest sympathies go out to Michael and the rest of Larry's family.  You are in our thoughts and prayers.  God's blessings to each of you.

Thank God for Larry's life and example.  May we each make our own decisions to reach out with Jesus' love to an aching world -- no matter who is reaching back to us.

Janet Yoder for Tim, John, Jessica, Jeff and Jason
