Reading so many of the comments from musicians on this fantastic thread site who say that they have covered live or recorded Larry's songs has set me thinking. Would it be a nice idea for some of us to put together a CD of our own versions of Larry's songs and send them to Charles and family as our little tribute to the man?

Only an idea, I am very happy to put the thing together, all I'd need is mp3s to be sent to me by email and I could compile it for whoever would want to hear it.

As I say, it's just an idea, be great to hear what anyone else thinks. If it isn't a starter for any legal reason I would understand.

This active board has been incredible, reading all of the marvellous comments and recollections proves just how much Larry is missed by everyone. I only heard last Thirsady morning, and the loss is as hard now as it was then. But Larry's words will be with us all for ever, until we meet up with him again.

You have a good idea there, I recorded my last full live set back in November which included 2 Larry Norman tracks and I would be happy to contribute them to the Larry Norman tribute CD you wish to make.

that sounds like a great idea! i think it would be worthwile to send them copies of the Larry covers along with a release form waiving any rights, that way they could do with it whatever they please. it would be nice to see them choose a handful of cover songs from all of them that they receive and release it as a CD with all proceeds going towards Larry's funeral costs and past medical bills. that brings up another great thought, maybe some artists could send them drawings to use for the CD cover.

Larry gave all of us so much, it would be nice to be able to give back to him by giving to his family.

I know that Larry had a stipulation that anyone using his music should send, I think, $100 to Solid Rock; however, should this be an issue for doing this little tribute then I'm sure we could discuss it at a later date between us. That said, I'd hope that Larry's family would like to just hear what we all think/thought of Larry through playing his music. Maybe they might want to do something with it even... but let's not think too far ahead on this one, yet.

Hope to hear from anyone interested, I am MORE than happy to compile such an item.
