Would you like an on-going Larry Norman forum?

It seems apparent to me that a regular, on-going, Larry Norman forum (not one created primarily for family condolences) would be very popular. Why has no one put one together?

It seems like it would bring the fans together and spark additional interest in Larry's work. (Also, together we might be able to figure out some of the puzzles and hidden clues/riddles Larry planted in his work!)

Does anyone else agree?

There were a lot of interesting clues and ciphers in the liner for the record of Something New Under the Son (echoing Solomon that there's nothing new under the sun), which reminded me of the Beatles' albums at the time. With Larry's albums you always got lots of extras. Something New was conceived to be a double album, and graphically echoed Bob Dylan album designs. That continued in the songs. Bootleg was like that also. So much more than just a record.

Interest in Norman's music has continued to be a connection with others. When I went to Promise Keepers years back, I couldn't really connect with the music or style. Then I saw a guy wearing a T- shirt with EEGs of Larry's seven heart attacks. That was the best part of the conference for me, that I met that guy and got reconnected with Larry's music, which has strengthened me from the when I was first saved in high school. So many people have similar experiences of being affected by and connecting to Larry's music that it would be great to hear about them. -Gord Wilson, gordrw@yahoo.com, alivingdog.com

I would mainly because I know that the kind of people that appreciate Larry Norman and his music are the kind of people I can relate to.  I'd like to get to know each other better!  And Larry Norman is certainly a common interest!

I would like to see a Larry Norman forum kept going also.  Feeling orphaned like I do in this world, it would be wonderful to connect with others whose worldviews, and grace offered for differences, are the same.  If the Norman family doesn't feel the ability to keep this going, is there some other place on the web the forum could be  moved to?

Yes, I'm all for that too. I see so many familiar names putting all the right comments on here that it would be fantastic if we, and all others interested in Larry on whatever level, had a forum. This forum has been wonderful in enabling me to come to terms with Larry's sad passing, and I'm sure that most others have found it a comfort too.

Count me in on any new forum, should this one need to eventually be discontinued.

Not a bad idea Mike, I hope it will happen.  It's amazing to me that there are fans of Larry who weren't even born when he first started singing!  That certainly says a lot for the talent and honesty Larry has, as well as his focus for bringing the gospel of Jesus to the world.

Or, the archives are public if you just want to read through the back posts.

I went over there but didn't like the discussions. They where negative about Larry and questioned his live and words in a way I can not relate with.

I'm not saying Larry was a saint. But he surely has marched in as one.

Yes, unfortunately, the discussions there have turned pretty negative lately - which is a shame, because we have had some really good discussion in the past.  There are some members on the list who have a lot of knowledge of Larry's concerts and releases.

Currently the members of Larry's fan club, the Solid Rock Army, has a forum going which was started by Larry for the SRA members.
I can check with Charly to see if they will open up a public area for participation, (kind of like the Daniel Amous forum with members and nonmembers areas).
Thanks for the suggestion Mike.

Count me in. Like Steve and Brenda already mentioned five days ago it feels good to connect with people (family!) who like Larry's music and his way of looking at things. His bright look keeps inspiring me to look at things differently (deeper) then most people do. We definitely have One common interest (if I may say it like this) and sharing what we have learned from Larry enables us to keep growing towards Something new under the Son.

Go to larrynorman.com and come join us at the SRA. There is a great forum where one and all cares for each other and appreciates Larry's music.
It is a positave community with love and respect for each other, with prayer concerns, information sharing as well as a section 8 house if you just need time to detox. All are welcome, Charles stops by once and a while to chat.
