Just this morning I was thinking about Larry. Tonight I got on the internet and, about 10 minutes ago much to my surprise, learned that our beloved Larry Norman died on the 24th of February. I'm bummed, even though I know he's in the best place right now--with Jesus. Larry's music and heart made a huge impact on my life. As a teenage Christian growing up in the '70s, Larry's music challenged me to think about faith in Christ in a new way. His radical music, lyrics and honesty as a "Christian musician" encouraged and emboldened me as a believer, and shaped my world view. [My favorite LN album is "In Another Land".] I only got to meet and shake hands with Larry once--after a life-changing concert in Lincoln, Nebraska, in 1977--but it was one of the great and unforgettable moments of my life. Right now I have a photo of my hero, Brother Larry, hanging in my office. I'm sure going to miss him. My condolences to Larry's family. May the peace of Christ guard your hearts and minds during this time of grief.
