Larry Norman Message Board

Thanks to all the thousands of visitors we've had in the past 30 days.
The response has been overwhelming, and has meant a lot to
Larry's family and friends around the world.

Again, thanks for all the support and great memories...

Thanks For The Message Board

I just wanted to say thank you to the friends and family of Larry's who made this message board available. Over the past few weeks i've become a regular poster on here and i've found it to be a big comfort and help in dealing with the loss of my favorite musician....and I know that others here feel the same way. Also, getting to meet other Larry Norman fans and start friendships here has been a great joy for me.

These past few days i've been going through withdrawls by not being able to post and read new messages, and then when I saw it refered to as a 'temporary' message board I was very dissapointed. So thank you for putting it back up. I (and probably the majority of people on here) will do whatever we can to keep this board active and permanent. If you ever need to charge for membership fees or need help with volunteers to be moderators or anything of that sort, just let us know.

Thanks again.

Amen to that CrashDog!  I feel xactly the same way!  Been goin thru Larry withdrawals!  And in the process, I found some new websites...some with his lyrics written, some with his music that can be played online (while I'm at work!)  I miss Larry, even tho he wasn't a part of my life.  I'm just so glad he is with Jesus now!  Sooo many of his songs showed his eternal perspective, pointing to eternity.  Now he is there enjoying it all, and I can't wait to be with him!  Thanks for bringing back the message board!

I cannot agree enough! This board has been a great opportunity for us all, and has helped many of us come to terms with what we always knew was going to happen, ie lose Larry to his failing health - if only by sharing our experiences and love for Larry with fellow admirers of the man, his music and ministry.

If possible, can you post those links Brenda? It would be good to see what you have found!

Regards

Steve, UK

Here are the Larry Norman links I found.  The first one allows you to play some of his music online.  By the way, it intentionally leaves it in no excellent quality so no one pirates it.  It's just nice to hear at work...

This one gives lyrics to a lot of his songs, and it's over 150 pages (count 'em!  I printed them out! smile.gif  There are a lot of grammatical/spelling errors and some errors in the actual lyrics.  I went through them with a pen and made corrections (as well as a few impressions of my own, to send to a friend in prison).  If you would like, I could email them to you corrected...I scanned them into the computer after I made handwritten corrections...

Enjoy!

just a few suggestions for the board:

instead of having it moderated like it currently is (where it takes so long for posts to appear), how about we just make it where posters have to register, and anyone who disobeys posting rules gets suspended or banned? it's a bit harsh, but it would make for a better board and it could still be moderated.

also, i like the old format of new posts at the bottom better. is there any way you could make this so users could set it to appear on their computer the way that they prefer it?

Sounds a good suggestion to me, as people would be more likely to use it. I guess some of the people who used it in the past may not be doing so at the moment as postings necessarily take a little while to appear.

To register and have a mod seems like a good thing. But i don't know if the people at larrynorman.com have the time to do this.

Running a place myselff I know it is a lot of work.
